If Pets Had Thumbs Day
If Pets Had Thumbs Day is coming up March 3rd. Our animal companions may have adorable paws, but, fortunately for us, they don’t have opposable thumbs. What do you think would happen if pets suddenly grew thumbs? Our guess: shenanigans! Here, a Lakeville, MN vet lists a few things our furry buddies would do with thumbs.
Video Games
Given that some cats and dogs do enjoy watching certain programs, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to find them playing video games. We suspect that some of the classics, like Duck Hunt, would be their favorites.
Shopping
Thumbs are one thing, but if your furry friend learned how to use a computer, you would probably be in for some headaches. Fluffy would order every single bed and cat tower she could find, while your pooch would sign up for food deliveries, chew toys, and a deluxe doghouse, kiddie pool, and, of course, treats.
Locking Each Other Out
Fluffy and Fido have had a long and fairly rocky relationship. While sometimes they become best buds, in other cases, they’re more like bickering siblings. Fido may not be terribly upset to find himself locked out. He’d probably just head to the nearest park or doggy café!
Fridge Raid!
No surprises here. Fluffy might limit herself to eating all of your sandwich meat, but Fido may very well sample everything you have on hand. They’d also go through the cupboards, and open every can and package you had on hand.
Selfies
Dogs and cats take adorable photos. You may come home to find your phone or camera memory eaten up by pictures of your four-legged friend!
Snooping
Curiosity is a common trait in many of our animal companions. Fluffy may be very curious about the contents of your dressers and boxes. Fido, of course, would probably be more interested in finding out what’s in all of those cans in the cupboard.
Cancellations
If our furry patients were able to email us to cancel their appointments, our calendar may very well suddenly become empty. We do everything we can to make visits comfortable and easy on our patients. Even so, it’s probably safe to say that Fido and Fluffy would rather be home playing Duck Hunt and snacking.
