We are OPEN + Telemedicine is now available

We just want to touch base with all of our amazing clients to let you know how the shelter in place order affects BPAH. Since we are considered an “essential” business we will remain open for business at this time which is great! We are excited to be able to stay available to our clients and continue to care for your pets!

Drop Off Appointments for Sick/Urgent Cases
We will continue to have a limited staff at the clinic daily with the temporary hours of Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and closed Saturdays. Due to the new laws in place, we are only seeing sick or urgent cases in clinic. We will continue to see these type of visits as drop off appointments to limit our staff and client exposure. We will also continue the vaccination series for puppies and kittens to strengthen their immature immune systems. However, we will continue to postpone regular annual visits and non-urgent services until the restrictions have been lifted.

Telemedicine is now available!
We are now set up to do telemedicine visits with your favorite vet! Due to the shelter in place order, the AVMA has now lifted some of the restrictions for veterinarians on performing virtual visits. This type of visit will work perfectly for things like ear infections, skin infections, acute minor (non-life threatening) injuries or illness, mild upper respiratory infections, allergies, etc. Telemedicine visits will be made via our new PetPro Connect App on your smart phone. At this time, the cost for a telemedicine visit will be $35 for an appointment.  During a telemedicine visit you will have face to face time with one of our veterinarians where you can discuss your pet’s concerns. They will also be able to visually see and/or hear what is going on with your pet. Your veterinarian will then discuss a treatment plan. Prescriptions can be filled at the clinic via curbside service, using our online pharmacy, or a local pharmacy of your choice. If the condition is more serious, your doctor may recommend a drop off appointment for further diagnostics. Please give us a call at 952-894-2870 if you have any questions about this new service and we will walk you through it step by step.

Medication refills
With spring approaching we want to make sure you have started your heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Please let us know if you need a refill to get started soon.  If your pet is on chronic medication, we also recommend picking up a 3-month supply to have on hand. Give us a call at the clinic if you need refills for your pet or request through our PetDesk App.  We are continuing curbside pickup for those items. You can also visit our online store on the home page of our website to make purchases and have them shipped directly to your home.

We understand that these are trying times for everyone and we will get through this together. In the meantime, we will continue to be here for you and your furry family member as best as we can. We are grateful for these new resources so that we can still stay in contact with our clients and patients during these unprecedented times. We will continue to update all of you as things evolve and as soon as our limitations have been lifted for routine surgeries, dentals, and routine procedures. We look forward to being able to go about our regular business and continue the wonderful relationships we have built with our amazing clients over the years! Take care and stay safe! We are sure your pets are very excited about this shelter in place order so they can get some extra snuggle time!

Sincerely,
The Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital Team
