COVID-19 Update: Changes to our services and hours

We wanted to take the time to update all our wonderful clients about some important changes here at BPAH. Effective, Monday, March 23rd Governor Walz has issued an executive order that all veterinary hospitals postpone all non-essential or elective surgeries and procedures, including non-emergent or elective dental care. This is an effort to both preserve personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, gowns, etc. as well as limit all non-essential visits to lessen the spread of COVID 19.

After a week of providing curb-side services, we do not want to limit our clients or not meet the needs of our patient’s, but this is a time that we must follow these strict instructions to do our part to prevent this spread of COVID-19. We want to protect both the health of our staff and our clients as best as possible while still being available to guide you with your pet care needs.

What Type of Appointments will be Available?

We will no longer be seeing any routine/wellness appointments for the time being.  We will only be offering appointments for urgent/sick cases at this time. If you have a scheduled appointment for your pet in the near future, we will be reaching out this week to confirm and/or reschedule.

We are working hard to set up our telemedicine option as that will be the preferred route for urgent/sick patient appointments for the safety of our staff and clients. We are hoping to have it ready early this coming week.  If a clinic visit is required, we will evaluate our options on a case by case basis.

How do I pick up my Prescriptions and Pet Food Refills?

We are highly recommending that all our clients with pets on long term medications and prescription diets get a 3-month supply to ensure your pet has what they will need during this difficult time.

We will have a few staff members at the office so you can call to get your pet’s prescriptions, prescription diets.  You can also go to www.burnsvillevet.com to refill your prescriptions via our online pharmacy.

What if I have a routine question – but do not know if I need an appointment or not?

Our Certified Veterinary Technicians will be available via phone at (952) 894-2870 to schedule urgent/sick appointments and answer any of your questions. Once available, they will also be able set you up with a telemedicine visit with one of our doctors.

Please feel free to give us a call with any questions or concerns you may have about your pet’s health. We will continue to be here for our patients as long as the government allows us to do so.

Temporary Change of Hours

BPAH hours will be changing temporarily. Starting Monday, March 23rd, 2020 the services outlined above will be available Monday – Friday 9am-4pm. We will be closed the next two Saturdays, March 28th and April 4th.  The new hours will be in place until the statewide restrictions are lifted. We will continue to update you as we get more information.

As you all know, this situation is continuing to evolve, and we will update you as changes need to be made. We hope to be back to normal as soon as possible. Please be patient with us since we will have limited staff at the clinic so calls may take longer to get to everyone.

If your pet is sick or has a medical emergency outside of our new business hours, please call Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Eden Prairie at (952) 942-8272. We appreciate all of your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Take care,

The Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital Team
