Growing up on a small hobby farm in southwestern Iowa, Dr. Matt Kruse couldn’t help being pulled in by the veterinary world. He participated in the 4H program and was always around veterinarians, and by the time he started college, a career in the industry seemed like the perfect fit! Dr. Kruse’s passion has led him all the way to his current position as a full-time veterinarian and the owner of Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital.
Dr. Kruse attended Iowa State University to study biology before signing up for veterinary school. One of his best friends from college lived in Minneapolis, and Dr. Kruse and his wife decided to move there to start their professional careers. After working at clinics in Apple Valley and Eden Prairie, he purchased the practice in August of 2003.
Client education is Dr. Kruse’s favorite part of veterinary medicine. Helping pet owners to prevent disease, strengthening the bond between animals and humans, and allowing pets to live longer, happier lives makes every day worthwhile!
Dr. Kruse and his wife, Heather, live in Edina with their three young children: Drew, Nina, and Alexa. The family shares their home with a longhaired Dachshund named Lucy. Outside of his duties at the practice, Dr. Kruse enjoys golfing, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and traveling.
