Are you feeling anxious about your pet’s upcoming procedure?
For the highly skilled team at Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital, surgery is a part of our everyday routine. For you and your pet, on the other hand, it’s probably not something you’ve had to deal with very often. As a result, you may be feeling nervous and concerned. We’re here set your mind at ease. Our clinic is outfitted with modern equipment and our doctors perform surgery using the most up-to-date techniques. More importantly, the wellbeing of our patients is our utmost priority.
All surgical procedures begin with thorough planning. We’ll run diagnostic tests on your pet to ensure he or she is healthy enough to proceed. This helps us to identify potential risk factors so we can prepare for them in advance. We’ll also develop a strategy for managing your pet’s pain that is tailored specifically to his or her unique needs. This ensures optimum safety and comfort for your companion.
During your pet’s surgery, he or she will be carefully monitored at all times using up-to-date equipment. Our experienced veterinary technicians will keep a close eye on his or her vital signs and make sure comfort levels are maintained. While we never rush, we will work to complete surgery as efficiently as possible to limit the amount of time your pet must be sedated.
Surgical procedures offered at Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital include, but are not limited to:
- Feline declaw
- Laceration repair
- Lumpectomy (warts, cysts, skin growths, etc.)
- Aural hematoma repair
- Oral surgery
- Urogenital surgery
- Orthopedic surgery
- Ophthalmic surgery (limited)
- Emergency surgery (foreign bodies, abdominal exploratory, etc.)
Our clinic utilizes a CO2 laser for all surgical procedures. Laser surgery causes less tissue damage and bleeding, which results in less postoperative pain and faster healing time. The laser is especially useful for cat declaw surgeries. Cats and kittens are usually up and walking shortly after surgery with little to no discomfort and few complications.
When surgery is complete, we will shift our focus to helping your pet enjoy a swift and painless recovery. Our after-care instructions will likely include the administration of pain medication for a short time once you’ve brought your pet home. Should any questions or concerns come up about your pet’s surgery or postoperative care, we’re here to help. Don’t hesitate to give us a call.
Your pet’s surgery doesn’t have to be a source of anxiety. Let our years of experience provide you with the peace of mind you deserve.
